My soul stepped to the waters edge,
one last moment of familiar breath.
Then soon all will start to fade,
as I moved towards the oceans depth.
The waves will crash overhead,
as I become one with the eternal bliss,
Sinking deeper and deeper,
like that of an infants dream
I sit alone,
except for my thoughts,
Images that play out in my head.
I’m watching, waiting,
hoping for a chance,
for just one moment,
But hope is just an illusion
and though I know,
this hope is only real to me.
It is all that I have.
A halo of smoke,
Encircles my spirit,
A world of shadows
Takes hold of all I see,
And yet a light shines,
From high above,
Calling me,
Beckoning me towards it.
It lights a path before me,
Leading from this world to the next,
Showing me there is no fear,
For a heart that is true.
If the world were ending,
And the sun was to no longer rise,
Could I face the last morning with strength,
Or in silence with closed eyes.
The moon is my love,
She alone guides my soul.
No light shines brighter
than that of her smile,
No sound is sweeter, than that of her voice.
Like the sea
I find myself beneath her spell,
I rise and fall,
Upon her mercy,
I live and breath
Upon her truth,
I seek not shelter,
From the storms she commands
For in her storms
There is eternity
And in this eternity
There is love.
Within a dream,
an endless dream of wonder,
where sunsets clear the way
for the moon to rise.
Oh I have seen that moon rise,
and set her beautiful eyes upon my troubled soul.
A shell of a man,
Have I become,
Losing all that I am,
To the tempest of my mind.
But she alone
Still beacons me to her,
She alone guides me,
And holds me in her arms.
And while some may scream blasphemy,
It is still her that I worship,
Still her that I raise above all others,
And in the calmness that she brings,
By the simple touch of her love,
I know forever,
I shall belong to the moon.
I see life with my eyes,
And my heart.
My mind creates words,
Born from the flames of pure emotion.
They may not always be right,
but they are always real.
They may be hard to believe,
But they are the only truth I have.
The room I have created in my head,
An attic covered in dim lights,
And dusty cobwebs.
Boxes littered across the floor.
Each filled with shattered dreams,
And broken promises.
It was not my attempt,
To create such a sorrowful place
Yet here I find myself.
Trapped in this existence,
Holding a key to my escape,
But finding no door to use it on.
I know she’s not perfect,
I’ve seen the other side of her smile.
I’ve seen the flaws,
That make her human.
And still to her I give my all….
Everything I am,
my flesh, blood, heart and soul,
belongs to her alone.
I see her with eyes,
That no one else will ever see through,
And in that,
she is every want I will ever need.
No she may not be perfect,
In the ways the universe might say,
But in all the universe I know,
She’s the perfect one for me.
I sail across a raging sea,
The wind and waves conspire to pull me Beneath the surface.
I’ve lost so much to the whims of this storm,
bits and pieces of my soul drifting to the oceans floor.
No signs of sun nor clear blue skies,
as they are stolen away,
By a blanket of black gray clouds.
No trace of tears stain my cheeks
As stinging raindrops erases their existence from my face.
No words of grace have passed my lips,
For I fear the gods must surly have abandoned me.
Still I try to hold out hope,
that beyond the next break I’ll see
The horizons arms stretched out wide,
To save me in it’s warm embrace.
